The human world will be implied as Maya and her friends encounter man made objects. But we will never see people, and only occasionally hear human laughter or music. Maya might come across an abandoned flowerpot which she and her friends turn into a playhouse. Or Maya may find a few pairs of flip flops on the edge of a lake. A splash off screen would imply that there are people swimming, but we wouldn’t see them.
At the same time, the environment will reflect and imitate the human world when it enhances the series. Maya and her friends will have a play house in the hollow of a tree that will have little acorn sofas, toad stool chairs, cups made of flowers and the tea pot an acorn fashioned to look like it has a spout. It will be like a ’house’ with ‘furniture’ but everything will be made from nature.
